	Pete and the twins visiting Gina at hospital after Grace's birth. I'm fairly certain this is the last time you'll see Clare and Rachael as pre-pubescents. In hindsight, I should have chosen a better word than 'prosaic' for Grace's birth. Birth is miraculous. Of course, I think the word 'prosaic' gets short shrift. Although poetry is (generally) more powerful, prose can move mountains as well.

20 JUNE 2001 Wednesday - 2000 Page 54 Black Kettle Pub Grace had come about through more prosaic means, being the result of a whirlwind romance gone bad. Her biological father had no desire to be involved and Gina readily agreed. They parted company with civility and, by mutual agreement, their sole correspondence involved a monthly cheque for the next sixteen years.
