Pete and the twins visiting Gina at hospital after Grace's birth. I'm fairly certain this is the last time you'll see Clare and Rachael as pre-pubescents.

In hindsight, I should have chosen a better word than 'prosaic' for Grace's birth. Birth is miraculous. Of course, I think the word 'prosaic' gets short shrift. Although poetry is (generally) more powerful, prose can move mountains as well.

Grace had come about through more prosaic means, being the result of a whirlwind romance gone bad. Her biological father had no desire to be involved and Gina readily agreed. They parted company with civility and, by mutual agreement, their sole correspondence involved a monthly cheque for the next sixteen years.
